Metal Free Fillings Defined
Metal free fillings are also known as composite resin fillings. We find this to be a good option for our patients because the filling is tooth colored and even bio-compatible.
The common silver, metal fillings are not a quality option for your mouth. They often cause decay underneath the filling and we don’t want that to be the case for our patients. We believe that metal free fillings are the way to go and can walk you through the process with ease.
The Installation & Procedure Info
We try to make this procedure go quickly and smoothly. First, Dr. Bhupatiraju will remove the decayed tooth and any metal filling that may already be there. Then she will apply a gel and bonding agent which enables the composite resin to stick to the tooth.
Once the resin is put into the tooth by layer, it is cured, adjusted and finally polished so it looks great. The goal is to leave our patients with a natural look that helps you feel confident as you smile.

Composite resins are durable, strong, and just a stable solution for fillings. Metal free fillings last a long time and are quite comfortable for patients too. In fact, they will often last longer than metal fillings while keeping the tooth stronger.
